Settlement agreement advice provided across the UK- remotely at your convenience

Why do I need employment law advice on a settlement agreement?

Settlement agreements always require that the employee takes independent legal advice before signing because they include a detailed waiver of claims. As the employee is waiving legal rights and entitlements, the law requires that they do so in full knowledge of what that means? Our employee advice page provides more information about settlements.

Can I have advice without coming into your Edinburgh office?

There is no need to come into our office to sign your settlement agreement. We advise employees across the UK, not just in Edinburgh. We even advise employees who are based offshore or who live abroad. We use technology to undertake Law Society mandatory ID checks and to sign contracts. For all the advice in between- we hold our appointments by telephone or video call.

Do I need a Scottish solicitor to sign my settlement agreement?

We are fully qualified to sign settlement agreements under the law of Scotland and under the law of England and Wales. We also have an English qualified solicitor on our team. So do not worry if your employer states that you need a solicitor in either jurisdiction- we have you covered.
